| Västervik has a long history of
boat building, boats and yachts have been built for
centuries. Today the marine industry is changed and
co-operation where possible results in higher quality and
efficiency.
With that in mind VYBS (Västervik Yacht Builders Society)
was formed late 2009. The first members are
Storebro,
Windy
Scandinavia, Marström
Composite and Golden-Cut Yachts. Richard Granberg
(Golden-Cut Yachts) is chairman of the board.
One of the goals in VYBS is to inform and educate about
the marine industry industry in Västervik and its old and
impressive history and develop the industry for the future.
Therefore the project East Coast Marine Center was
initiated.
It is a long term investment and one of the first
sub-projects are to build a publicly open Showroom for
visitors in conjunction the Golden-Cut/Windy Scandinavia
yard. The opening is planed for late September 2010. |
